Paul Baker, CEO/President and Owner/Operator
Paul Baker , the founder of Event Water Solutions, is a water treatment expert and is also the owner of the Water Store in Orillia, Ontario. Paul has worked in the water treatment industry for the last 10 years. Before water treatment, Paul was employed as a senior manger in the casino industry, managing large casino floors with hundreds of staff and thousands of patrons. The experience Paul has gained in these jobs make him the ideal person to run Event Water Solutions.
Paul’s concerns about the health and environment impacts of plastic water bottles have led to his ongoing search for better alternatives. The water stations that he has developed have now saved over 1,000,000 plastic bottles.
Paul lives in Orillia, Ontario with his family but can usually be found on the road with Event Water Solutions.
Chad Shennett, Operations Manager
Chad Shennett has been working in the water treatment industry for over 5 years under the tutelage of water treatment specialist Paul Baker. He was one of the original employees when Event Water Solutions was founded at the Mariposa Folk Festival in 2009 and has been an invaluable member of the team since.
Chad specializes in event management where he ensures everything is in proper working order and up to highest health standards. Furthermore, Chad is formerly educated at Plattsburgh State University where he received his undergraduate degree in English and his Master’s degree in the Science of Teaching. This education serves as a valuable tool in his work as an event manager when he trains volunteers and teaches other EWS employees of the ins and outs of water stations and how to properly run an event.
Patrick Lane, Account Manager
Patrick joins us with an extensive background in sales and hospitality. With more than a decade in the gaming industry in a managerial role he left to pursue a career in the recruitment industry. Becoming an integral part of supplying the country’s largest companies with a professional workforce and facilitating corporate human resource projects, he has developed personal sales skills and a refined sense for detail.
After several years he moved on to the West Coast and began his hospitality career at one of Canada’s finest restaurants in the Whistler community. Gaining valuable understanding in dealing with high profile clients and the world’s elite, Patrick has been able to learn and value the fine art of hospitality while maintaining the highest level of professionalism.
Recently Patrick has spent the last 2 years in beautiful Australia. Traveling the country learning about Australia’s culture and issues with sustainability, he has interacted with the community and been involved directly with the environment cause. Being an island nation he has seen first hand the incredible value of sustaining the world’s most precious resource and the elimination single-use plastic water bottles from our landfills. Assisting several corporations in their efforts to go green he developed recycling and water management programs for several prominent Australian corporations.
